In July 2001 Penta established a new fund, Pentech Ventures ("Pentech") with funding commitments from both institutions and high net worth individuals known to Penta. The Pentech fund now stands at £22.5 million, and is specifically focused on early stage, IPR rich, technology businesses.
Pentech is a division of Penta, and is managed on a day to day basis by its own team of investment executives, who have specific direct experience of technology businesses. Pentech also utilises the services of an Advisory Group of technology entrepreneurs who have funded, developed and sold technology businesses.
The Advisory Group plays an important part in assessing the technical and commercial strengths of potential technology opportunities as well as providing, where appropriate, "hands on" support to investee companies.
